M.A., Associate Director of N.P.A ABA Services

Lusine Akelyan is the Associate Director for N.P.A A.B.A. services and works closely with all contracted school districts to provide services for students with I.E.Ps. She has 19 years of experience working with children and teens, 15 of which have been with the special needs population. Prior to joining the Holding Hands family in 2008, Lusine worked with young children in a private school setting and with school-aged children within the Los Angeles Unified School District. Lusine is bilingual (Armenian) and embraces cross-cultural diversity. She holds a B.A. in Child Development and an M.A. in Arts of Teaching, specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis. Aside from providing Behavior Intervention services, Lusine is a Clinical Supervisor for all office locations and conducts assessments for Floortime™ and Social Skills programs; she greatly enjoys working at a multidisciplinary clinic. Her first goal is always to connect with the child/teen/young adults, which she believes paves the way to a better relationship with the family to provide them with the support they need. Lusine feels that expanding her knowledge in this field is continuous, and working with other therapists with diverse educational backgrounds allows her to build upon her knowledge.
